There are only a few days left in November, but Xiaomi can still sneak in a product release before December rolls around. It looks like the Xiaomi 13 series could be next, with Lu Weibing teasing just as much on Chinese social media. For reference, Weibing is the president of Xiaomi Group China and oversees the Redmi brand.
To date, it was believed that Xiaomi would launch the Xiaomi 13 series next month in December, following last year’s announcements of Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, with Qualcomm unveiling the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 a few weeks earlier than last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, there were expectations that we’d see the Xiaomi 13 series before Christmas rather than in the last few days of December.
Instead, Weibing hints that the launch of Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphones could coincide with a refresh of the mid-range series. In other words, Xiaomi may have more Redmi Note or Redmi K series smartphones up its sleeve. However, Xiaomi should put on its skates if it wants to get anything out the door this month. Typically, the company runs a short teaser campaign before announcing new smartphones, which should launch within a few days at the latest.
