vivo Y22s Now In Malaysia For RM 999

vivo Malaysia has officially launched its new vivo Y22s mid-range smartphone in Malaysia. The device that was announced earlier last weekcontains the same Snapdragon chipset as the Y35 from Augustbut at a slightly cheaper price.

For the local market, the new vivo Y22s comes with the same specs as the Vietnam release, but is only offered in a single memory configuration. To summarize our first report, the phone has a notched 6.55-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20.1:9, an NTSC color gamut of 70% and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, speaker, USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In addition, it is also rated IP5X for dust resistance and IPX4 for water resistance.

Internally, the vivo Y22s is equipped with a 4G-capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. As you might have expected, this model also comes with a RAM expansion feature that can convert up to 8 GB of storage space into virtual memory. In addition, it features Android 12 as standard via the brand’s Funtouch 12 platform, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, but lacks NFC support.

Meanwhile, the mid-range phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery along with support for 18W fast charging via USB-C. According to vivo, a 70 minute charge can charge about 70% of the battery.

Lastly, the handset comes with a dual camera setup on the rear, which consists of a 50MP f/1.8 primary and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. In the notch on the screen, on the other hand, there is an 8 MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The vivo Y22s is now available through the brand’s official store at Shopee for RM 999. In terms of color selection, the new mid-ranger is available in Summer Cyan or Starlit Blue colors.
