vivo Y02 release: 5000mAh battery, 6.51-inch LCD and Helio P22 SoC at ~RM430


vivo recently released the life Y02, its latest entry-level smartphone for the global market, which is currently only available in Indonesia. The successor of the Y01 and the lower variant of the Y02s, the device has a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor paired with up to 3 GB of RAM. There is also an option to virtually expand the RAM by up to 3 GB by using the device’s storage.

Speaking of which, in Indonesia, the device comes in a single 32GB storage variant, though there is support for up to 1TB of external storage via the microSD card slot. In addition, the Y02 also has a 5000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging via microUSB 2.0.

In terms of imaging capabilities, the device packs an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera housed in the teardrop notch of the screen. Other notable specs include dual SIM, a 3.5mm audio jack, Android 12 (GO edition), face unlock, and Orchid Blue or Cosmic Gray color options.

In Indonesia, the Y02 is priced at 1,499,000 IDR or ~RM430. At the time of writing, vivo has yet to announce its availability in other regions, though the company is expected to make it available in other Asian countries.
