vivo X Fold S expected to launch imminently with upgraded specs

It’s only been a few months since vivo launched its first foldable smartphone, the X Fold, but the company is already preparing to release its successor, a slightly improved version that will reportedly be called the vivo X Fold S.

This was first mentioned in the leakerverse earlier this month, and today we’re getting information on what upgrades to expect compared to the non-S version that’s already on sale. Spoiler alert: none of these will blow your mind.

According to the usually reliable Digital chat station, the vivo X Fold S comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a 4,700mAh battery and support for 80W wired charging. Those are reportedly the only differences from the X Fold, which has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 , has a 4,600 mAh battery and support for 66 W wired charging. Otherwise, the new upcoming phone should be identical to the older model.

While three spec upgrades isn’t much, it isn’t nothing. It remains to be seen how early adopters of the X Fold will react to its replacement after only a few months of availability on the market. The X Fold S will apparently be announced very soon.
