Vivo X Fold Plus: Details of Vivo’s Galaxy Z Fold4 rival leak ahead of launch

Vivo seems poised to launch another foldable phone. The company launched the Vivo X Fold earlier this year and plans to refresh it soon with the Vivo X Fold S, with details of the foldable phone now leaking ahead of its release.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold S could actually be marketed as the Vivo X Fold Plus. The new foldable will of course be aimed directly at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 in the Chinese market. The Vivo X Fold Plus will reportedly have a 50MP main camera, supported by a 48MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 12MP 2x portrait camera and an 8MP 5x periscope zoom. There will be a 16 MP selfie camera on the front of the phone. Those are impressive camera specs and ensure that the foldable camera rivals the Galaxy Z Fold4 in that respect – at least on paper.

The Vivo X Fold Plus will trade in the Vivo X Fold’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for the newer, improved Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The upcoming foldable will see some other improvements over the device it refreshes: the battery capacity will increase from 4600mAh to 4700mAh, with charging also rising from 66W to 80W. Those are more impressive than anything the Galaxy Z Fold4 offers.

The Vivo X Fold Plus is expected to debut later this month and, if priced like the Vivo X Fold, should undercut the Galaxy Z Fold4. For some perspective, the X Fold started at CNY 8,999, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 starts at CNY 12,999.
